Overview & Highlights

If you're searching for an authentic taste of Mexico in the heart of Augusta, look no further than Nina's Taqueria. Nestled at 111 E Michigan Ave, this delightful family-owned restaurant has been a staple in the community for over 20 years. Their commitment to fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors is evident in every dish they serve.

Nina's Taqueria boasts unique decor that reflects its cultural roots, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Diners frequently rave about the food—a highlight being the flavorful grilled Chile relleno, which brings a satisfying taste but comes as a single serving for dinner. The burrito with shredded beef is another must-try, often praised for its rich flavors and generous portion size.

Customers like Shane Slack emphasize the consistently great food and commend the quick service. The chips and guacamole are frequently mentioned as a crowd favorite, alongside the sizzling fajitas that promise to deliver a burst of flavor. And if you're in the mood for a sweet ending, don’t miss the fried ice cream, a delightful treat that rounds off your meal perfectly.

While some patrons, like Emilio Rivera, have noted that the atmosphere might benefit from a little maintenance and suggested a potential menu enhancement—like switching to queso blanco—the flavors of the food are undeniably exceptional. Entrées are priced competitively, typically around $10, making Nina's Taqueria an excellent value for those seeking mouthwatering dishes.

For those who may miss Nina’s Battle Creek location, Linda Schaefer expresses nostalgia for the salsa and chips, which have remained consistently delicious and reminiscent of fond memories. While Charlie McKinney points out that the taqueria lacks a liquor license, which means no margaritas, the quality of the food more than compensates for it. If that's more your style, Nina’s Battle Creek location has you covered with a larger dining space and a full bar.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, Nina's Taqueria offers a culinary experience that captures the essence of Mexican cuisine with heart and authenticity. Don't miss out on this gem! Be sure to call ahead at +1 269-731-5300 for the latest specials and dining options.

This family restaurant offers unique decors and tasty food. The grilled Chile relleno was very good but you only get one for a dinner price. The burrito with shredded beef was also very good. They have been in a small town for 20 years for a reason.

The food is always great and the servers are quick. Never had a bad experience. The chips and guac are so good! I get the fajitas. Also you the fried ice cream last time. Check it out if you haven't already. Also don't forget to tip the cooks.

Small maintenance needed especially cracked table tops and splitting chair. Not much attention given to our table ex.. refills/how's the food. Would like to see the basic cheese switched to queso Blanco to really match the complimentary dishes versus the local Tex Mex style in the enchiladas and burrito but if that's the goal, on point so far. Pricing and portions, for entrees, are a value worth noting. Rich flavor, rice and beans were delicious. Meals before tax were 10$ (+/- ~5). Definitely coming back.

Really miss their restaurant in Battle Creek so I made a special stop to enjoy it again. The salsa and chips are exactly the way I remember and the atmosphere the same. Small but still excellent dining.

Authentic local Mexican restaurant with great homemade salsa and hot sauce. Best Mexican food in the area... only downside is no liquor license, so no margaritas with your meal. However, the Battle Creek location DOES have a liquor license, and a larger dining room, so if thats your speed it's not too far away.

I found this place about a week ago. I got a takeout menu and decided to get lunch from here on Thursday. Staff were nice and professional when I came in. Being my first time, I didn't want to go over the top, so I ordered the Burrito Norteno. It was delicious! Another reason I give it five stars is their variety and their foods in general. I've never seen a place where you can get a beef tongue burrito, for example. I will definitely return here soon!

Always the best food and the chips and salsa are amazing! Definitely get the enchiladas with the green sauce. So good. You won't be disappointed. Fun environment with super friendly and far service. I cannot recommend this place enough. I've tried all of the other local places and this is by far the best Mexican food in the area. I've only had better in New Mexico.
